Switching between IP Master and Static IP

IP Master Mode is a feature that is available in version 2.x and higher of Apex Manager and Apex 1100 firmware. You will need to upgrade to version 2.x or higher to use IP Master, see Upgrading the Apex Manager and Apex 1100 firmware . To find out more about the differences between IP Master and Static IP, see Select a remote access mode.

If you are in IP Master mode, and would like to switch to Static IP.

If you are in Static IP mode, and would like to switch to IP Master.

If You are in IP Master Mode, and Would Like to Switch to Static IP

  1. From the Apex Manager, go to the Advanced feature.
  2. From Advanced, use the list in the left panel to open the LAN Configuration menu and then click on LAN IP.

  1. Choose Static IP Mode.
  1. Click the Apply button.
  1. From the TCP/IP Properties in Windows, configure the PCs on your LAN to "Specify an IP address."

For Windows 95: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Configuration, select TCP (for Ethernet adapters) listed under Network Components > Properties > IP Address > Specify an IP Address> enter the IP Address and Subnet Mask > OK.
For Windows NT 4.0: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Protocols, select TCP (for Ethernet adapters) listed under Network Protocols > Properties > IP Address > Specify an IP Address> enter the IP Address and Subnet Mask > OK.

  1. Reboot your PC and run the Apex Manager. You will need to re-configure the router.

If You are in Static IP Mode, and Would Like to Switch to IP Master

  1. From the Apex Manager, go to the Advanced feature.
  2. From Advanced, use the list in the left panel to open the LAN Configuration menu and then click on LAN IP.
  1. Choose IP Master Mode.
  2. You can choose to use the default IP address and subnet mask (192.168.1.1 & 255.255.255.0) by selecting the checkbox, or you can use any other IP address and subnet mask, such as 100.100.100.1 & 255.255.255.0.
  3. Click the Apply button.
  4. From the TCP/IP Properties in Windows, configure the PCs on your LAN to "Obtain an IP address automatically."


For Windows 95: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Configuration, select TCP (for Ethernet adapters) listed under Network Components > Properties > IP Address > Obtain an IP Address Automatically > OK .

For Windows NT 4.0
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Protocols, select TCP (for Ethernet adapters) listed under Network Protocols > Properties > IP Address > Obtain an IP Address from DHCP server > OK.
Reboot your PC and run the Apex Manager.
