Configuring your network computers to use a single user account from IP Master mode

IP Master mode allows you to subscribe a "single user dial-up account" account from an ISP and share that account with your entire Local Area Network (LAN). Therefore, all the PCs on your LAN will not need to specify an IP address.

Verify that you have TCP/IP network protocol available on each workstation on your LAN

Configure the TCP/IP in Windows for "Obtain an IP Address..."

Verify that you have v 2.0 or higher of the Apex Manager and Firmware.

Confirm that the PC you are using to configure the Apex 1100 has a valid IP address.

If you still can't detect the router, please go to Troubleshooting.

Verify that you have TCP/IP network protocol available on each workstation on your LAN.

For Windows 95: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Configuration, TCP/IP should be listed under Network Components. If it is not present, select Add > select Protocol for the network component > Add > select Microsoft for the Manufacturer and TCP/IP for the Network Protocols > OK.

For Windows NT 4.0: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Protocols, TCP/IP should be listed under Network Protocols. If it is not present, select Add > select TCP/IP Protocol for the Network Protocols > OK.

If you have not installed the Apex Manager on your PC, verify the version number from the Apex 1100 installation disk label or the ARESCOM CD-ROM. Insert the ARESCOM CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. From My Computer, double-click on your CD-ROM drive. Double-click the ARESCOM folder, and verify the version number listed with the Apex Manager folder.

If you have installed the Apex Manager on your PC, and open Advanced. The first window of Advanced will list the version number for the Apex 1100 router and the Apex Manager. To upgrade to a higher version, please download the Apex Manager and Firmware .
