PWR (Power): Indicates that the power adapter has activated the Apex 1100.

DIAG (Diagnostic): Shows that the Apex 1100 is operating correctly. When the Apex 1100 is powered on, the green LED will flash for about 10 to 15 seconds while booting up, and will then turn off until the ISDN line connection has been established (DIAG LED blinks slowly) and the SPIDs have been successfully registered.

If the SPIDs have not been registered, or if the SPID registration has failed, the DIAG LED will remain off. However, if the SPIDs have been sucessfully registered, the LED will flash slowly after the line connection has been established.

Ethernet ACT (Activity): Indicates activity between your router and Ethernet network with a flashing LED. Under normal usage it should be on from time to time.

Ethernet LN (Link): Displays the connection between the router and your Ethernet network. The LED will stay on while there is a connection.

NOTE: If you are using the BNC connection (coaxial cable) instead of using RJ-45 jack (U Twisted-Pair cable), the Ethernet LN will NOT turn on, even if there is a connection. But the Ethernet ACT will still function in the same manner as if it was a RJ-45 connection.

ISDN ACT (Activity): Indicates activity over your ISDN line with a flashing LED.

ISDN LN: (Link): Displays a connection over your ISDN line. A rapidly flashing green LED indicates that the router is either not physically connected to an ISDN line, or has lost line synchronization. The green LED will change to a slower flash when the line is synchronized.

Phone 1 and 2: Indicates the phone port is being used.

If you see the ISND LN LED flash rapidly for 4 or 5 times per second and pause in a continuous cycle, please do the following:

  • Verify that the RJ-45 end (wider) of the ISDN line has been plugged in the "ISDN U" jack, and the RJ-11 end (narrow) is plugged in to the ISDN wall outlet.
  • Call your ISDN line provider to make sure the ISDN line has been activated
  • Call your ISDN line provider's Service Center for in-house wiring service.
