Using Split-B to Simultaneously Connect
the Main Office LAN to the Internet and to a Remote Office
Application Diagram
The Main Office LAN can connect to the Internet while having a connection
to a Remote Office network.
Assumptions
- Both Main and Remote Office LANs are running Static IPs.
- A Static account with several valid IP addresses is provided by
ISP.
- Main Office LAN is using legal IPs.
- Main Office is able to access the Internet and the Remote Office
at the same time
- Remote Office LAN is using illegal IPs.
- Remote Office is able to access the Main Office but not able to
access the Internet.
- Main Office initializes the connection to the Remote Office.
Configurations
IP address assignment
ISP assigns legal 207.214.100.177-190/255.255.255.240 address range.
This is the range Main Office is running.
Remote Office is running 200.200.200.1-255/255.255.255.0 address range.
This is an illegal address range.
Router at the Main Office
- A dial-out Client.
- Static IP Mode.
- NAT is disabled.
- DHCP is disabled.
- With Static IP of 207.214.100.177/255.255.255.240.
- PC's IP address range is from 207.214.100.178-190. Gateway is 207.214.100.177.
- Two Profiles are required
- Profile 1
- Profile Name: Go to the Internet (Assigning name is optional)
- Select "Use this profile to dial out to ISP"
- Use only one channel
- Profile 2
- Profile Name: Go to the Remote Office (Assigning name is optional)
- Select "Use this profile to dial out to ISP"
- Use only one channel

Tips
- If the connection between Main and Remote Office can be initialized
by both ends, Main Office router has to add a profile as a "Dialin
Server", and Remote Office has to add a profile as a "Dial
out Client".
