Explorer 4.0 Intial Setup
for Use with Arescom Apex 1000 Router
After you download and install the IE4, double click on the icon.
A wizard will guide you through the configuration.
- First screen. Click Next.

- Select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)."
Click Next.

- This screen asks you if you are using a proxy server on your LAN.
Select No if you are not using proxy server. Click Next.
- Note: If your LAN does use proxy server, consult
your network administrator for configurations.

- You can set up your e-mail account now, if you are going to use
Microsoft Internet Explorer e-mail program. If you do not want
to set up your e-mail account now, select No and move to step 10.
- Note: It is NOT necessary to set up your e-mail
in order to use Internet Explorer as a Internet browser.

- Enter your display name here.

- Enter your e-mail address. You should get this information
from your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

- Enter mail server information. You should get this information
from your ISP.

- Enter your e-mail logon information. You should get this information
from your ISP.

- Enter a "Friendly Name" of your e-mail account information.

- You can set up your news account now, if you are going to use Microsoft
Internet Explorer News program. If you do not want to set up
your news account now, select No and move to step 15.
- Note: It is NOT necessary to set up your news in
order to use Internet Explorer as a Internet browser.

- Enter your display name when you post message in the news group.

- Enter your e-mail address here.

- Enter news server information. You should get this information
from your ISP.

- Enter a "Friendly Name" of your news account information.

- This screen asks you if you are going to use Internet Directory
Service. Select No if you are not using the service. Click
Next.
- Note: If you are going to use the Internet Directory
Service, consult your ISP or network administrator for configurations.

- Now you have completed the configurations. Click Finish.

- Double click on the Internet Explorer icon to activate your browser.
You can change settings later if you prefer.
