Auto-Rollover

This dial up backup system initiates when the regular connection to the ISP via the cable modem or ADSL modem is disconnected. This built-in analog modem serves as back up and will attempt to reestablish a connection with the ISP using the default Dial-On-Demand connection profile.

Assumption

Use EZRider window GUI manager for configuration
Default outgoing interface is WAN interface
Default Dial-On-Demand connection profile is set

Configuration

  • From the EZRider manager > Modem connection profile > Make new profile > enter name for the new profile

    Under Dial-Out Properties:

    1. Enter remote phone number
    2. Enter second phone number
    3. Choose outgoing dial-on-demand option. Decide whether this file will be the default outgoing dial-on-demand profile

  • Under WAN IP address:

    1. Choose use either numbered or unnumbered IP addresses and appropriate subnet masks.
    2. Enter desired WAN IP address and subnet masks if Specified WAN IP address and subnet mask is selected.

  • Under NAT IP address:

    1. Enable NAT IP address
    2. Or enter desired NAT address

  • Under DNS server:
If requested by ISP you can statically place DNS's IP addresses

    Note:

    1. Once WAN interface is down and there is a default profile in 56K-modem configuration, any outgoing WAN bound packets will trigger 56K modem to dial out.
    2. Once WAN interface connection is resumed, the Dial-On-Demand 56K-modem connection will be disconnected automatically.
    3. Manual connect 56K modem through EZRider manager > Status > Connect will override WAN interface.
