ARESCOM and ebizconnection Delivers High-Speed Internet Access(HSA) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The IMS Corporation owns the race track which hosts three of the largest and most famous auto races in the world: The Indianapolis 500, NASCAR Brickyard 400, and the SAP United States Grand Prix Formula One race.

Established in 1909, the Indianapolis Speedway was built on 328 acres of farmland five miles northwest of the Indiana's capital city. Today, it covers over 500 acres and is the world's largest sporting facility with a seating capacity of more than 250,000 permanent seats. This year nearly one million sports fans attended the three largest single-day sporting events in world: the Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, and the United States Grand Prix. Service provider ebizconnection, a Midwest Broadband, Inc. company, deployed ARESCOM's MTU equipment to provide high-speed Internet access to race teams, on site sponsors, hospitality suites and media organizations. ARESCOM's MTU CDS 6000 DSL and HPNA systems were used to provide high-speed Internet access to the various entities located throughout the complex. This allowed ebizconnection to offer multiple levels of service using the two platforms. Within the expansive IMS complex there are over 9000 pairs of CAT 3 and CAT 5 cabling which all come back to the on site Central Office. This provided the perfect application of, the ARESCOM MTU equipment. Integrating the CDS 6000 DSL and the HPNA systems went extraordinarily well according to John McNichols, ebizconnection Operations Manager. "The two systems integrated seamlessly and worked extremely well throughout the month-long Indianapolis 500 event."
