1st Universe Chooses ARESCOM's MTU CDS 6000 DSL Service Platform to Deliver High-Speed Broadband Services to Premier Senior Community

Fremont, CA -May 09, 2001- ARESCOM, INC., a global provider of broadband infrastructure equipment for telecommunication carriers, ISPs, SOHOs (Small Office and Home Offices) and MTUs (Multi-Tenant Unit), announced today that 1st Universe has chosen its MTU CDS 6000 DSL Service Platform to offer high-speed Broadband Internet access to Leisure World, one of California's largest active senior communities.

1st Universe, a wireless ISP, will be deploying ARESCOM's MTU CDS 6000 Platform in conjunction with its companion CPE solutions to provide high-speed Internet access to the MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) environment of Leisure Worldä, which consists of single family homes, multiplexes, high-rises, clubhouses and more. The specific ARESCOM Internet access equipment implemented in the overall MTU CDS 6000 Platform are the CDS 6100 Controller, CDS 6010 Concentrator and ARESCOM's world-famous NetDSL 800/1000 bridge/modem and router solutions which allows a maximum number of tenants in Leisure Worldä MDU environment to share their Internet connections.

The CDS 6000 then delivers high-speed DSL Internet service to each tenant via the existing copper wire phone line. 1st Universe provides the high speed interface to the internet and ARESCOM's broadband equipment is used to distribute the bandwidth without the added expense of re-wiring costs and local charges. 1st Universe and ARESCOM can both support WAN bandwidth ranges from Ethernet to OC3 speeds.
