About DSLcon 2001 Global Summit
DSLcon is an annual conference that specifically focuses on the DSL
technology. This year's DSL conference in Honolulu will be DSLcon's
first annual summit with a global scope. According to Peter Meade, conference
director of DSLcon, this year's conference will be a "different kind
of DSLcon event, focusing on a particular segment of the global DSL
industry: "the needs of upper-level executives in the DSL community.
The program will include interactive sessions and executive roundtables,
focusing on investment, technology and deployment issues." Some of the
hot topics at this year's event will be: DSL Case Studies, DSL applications
for the MTU/MDU market segment, IP vs. ATM and DSL vs. Cable.
ARESCOM's Own MTU Broadband Solution: MTU CDS 6000 DSL Service Platform
ARESCOM's MTU CDS 6000 DSL Service Platform consists of a complete family
of stackable, expandable, and highly flexible multi-access and multi-service
controller and concentrator modules for the worldwide MTU market. Building
owners and property managers can seek to increase their property values
by leveraging DSL technology over the same copper wires to provide in-building,
high-speed connectivity to their tenants without the additional expense
of central office collocation. The CDS 6000 essentially functions as
a multiplexor ( similar to a "mini-DSLAM"), which is conveniently located
at the base of the building. The CDS 6000 product family consists of
three types of stackable modules: DSL concentrators, Fast Ethernet Switch,
and Controller. The DSL concentrators support flexible configurations
to meet the different needs of MTU customers, and the platform is stackable
and expandable. The system supports a wide range of WAN interface modules
including OC3/STM1, DS3, T1/E1,100 Base T and V.35.
Outstanding CDS 6000 feature sets include:
- Upgradeable bandwidth up to 52Mbps for VDSL subscribers
- Capable of pre-assigning bandwidth for each subscriber account
- Dedicated 56K dial-in for advanced remote management
- CDS Manager, a comprehensive GUI-based remote management software
to enable authorization, provisioning, monitoring, software updates
and upgrades
- IP QoS allows pre-setting bandwidth for flow-sensitive IP packets
to enjoy higher bandwidth
- Modular and rack-installed for minimum space usage in basement
and utility closet
