ARESCOM Introduces Its First Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) Broadband Solution with its MTU/MDU DSL Service Platform CDS 6000 Series at Fall Comdex 2000 in Las Vegas. Fremont, CA -November 9, 2000 - ARESCOM, INC., a global provider of broadband access devices, today announced its first Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) Multi-Service Broadband access system: the ARESCOM MTU/MDU CDS 6000 Platform. The ARESCOM CDS 6000 Platform provides an extensive set of scalable multi-access and multi-service DSL access controller and concentrator modules for the MTU Commercial services market. The CDS 6000 broadband access platform has been developed for property managers, ISPs, and system integrators to offer new value-added service applications with higher bandwidth performance. ARESCOM's MTU/MDU CDS 6000 Platform consists of an extensive family of stackable, expandable, and flexible multi-access / multi-service access and concentrator modules for the MTU/MDU market. Building owners and property managers can seek to increase their property values by leveraging DSL technology over the same copper wires to provide in-building, high-speed connectivity to their tenants without the added expense of central office collocation. The CDS 6000 Platform consists of three types of stackable modules: a DSL Controller, DSL Concentrator(s) and a Fast Ethernet Switch. Each type supports various configurations to meet the different needs of MTU/MDU customers, and the platform is stackable and expandable. The system supports a wide range of WAN interface modules including OC3/STM1, T1/E1, 10/100 Base T, and V.35. The initial Basic Platform Installation package includes a single CDS 6000 DSL Concentrator module together with a CDS 6000 Controller, and can be expanded to allow the property owner to conveniently add additional DSL ports by stacking multiple CDS 6000 DSL concentrator modules via a dedicated CDS 6000 Fast Ethernet Switch.
