ARESCOM shows "Community Spirit" by Donating EZ Rider
Routers to
Mountain View Academy
FREMONT, CA -June 23, 2000 - ARESCOM, INC., a leading provider
of cutting-edge DSL router and modem solutions for telcos, ISPs, and
SOHOs worldwide, demonstrated its "Community Spirit" today
by donating two EZ Rider Internet Access Routers to Mountain View Academy,
a private high school that specializes in serving Northern California's
Bay Area communities by providing quality education to a culturally-diverse
student body. ARESCOM partnered with ReachIn Inc., a local computer
service and consulting firm, to facilitate the setting up of the EZ
Riders for the school's networking environment.
The EZ Rider Internet Access Routers are being used for two applications
in the school environment: the student computer labs and the administrative
staff office environment. One EZ Rider will manage all the computers
and Internet access in two student computer labs. One lab contained
18 Macintosh computers and the other lab 28 PCs. Both routers use the
built-in DHCP server to dynamically assign IP addresses to all the computers
in the labs. The IP Filtering Firewall feature will be implemented as
a security feature. The other EZ Rider Router will connect all the computers
located in the Administrative and Staff Offices. The two routers will
allow both groups Internet access while remaining separate and secure.
